This month David and Matthew will be examining the short-lived and often-maligned 1986 series Life With Lucy! They will be breaking down 2 episodes of show which happen to bring with them some familiar faces we have enjoyed on The Facts Of Life!
First, in Episode 9, “Lucy And The Guard Goose” we get Charles Levin as a police officer. He will be familiar to TFOL viewers as word-processor-TV-salesman Looney Lou on TFOL S8 E14 “Post-Christmas Card.”
Next, in Episode 13, “World’s Best Grandma,” we get Michael Zorek as a pizza delivery man. We previously saw him twice on TFOL… both times as college student Victor, first as a frat house pizza connoisseur in TFOL S6 E2 “Slices Of Life,” and later as the guy who was too drunk to do the overnight shift at the radio station in TFOL S6 E10 “Talk, Talk, Talk.” (Bonus points if you’re also remembering that we discussed him previously on TVT when we broke down the original 1983 TV-movie High School USA.)
75-year-old Lucille Ball and 80-year-old Gale Gordon are working as hard as they can to bring their old-school humor into the 1980s. And we have a lot of opinions on whether they succeed.
