Aaron’s New Puppy Roxette!

Co-Ed Fever!

We were discussing this and we couldn’t remember the show that originally used the set for TFOL season 1. It was “CO-ED FEVER!” and the opening theme song is so awful, doesn’t it look like a spoof of a sitcom, as opposed to an actual sitcom? So here is the TFOL set in its infancy! (OMG I wonder if THEY were the ones recycling the set from Diff’rent Strokes Season 1 Episode 24 (“The Girls School”) … ???

I am posting this video a month later… Here is the analysis of whether the Over Our Heads set is ‘less than’ its normal previous appearances. (SPOILER: I believe it is the same.) Thank you to Tootie Fruity Peter B for bringing this up and for sending the screen grabs that point the DEFINITE discrepancy in the floor.

Costume Design!

Hair Design!

Guess what? As we thought, the hairstyles for this episode were designed by the same person who did the “Year 2000” episode back in Season 5: JoAnn Stafford-Chaney. So, very likely, Natalie’s side-braid was intentionally done to reference our last “flash forward” episode.

Little Known Fact: Diana Eden & Bill Macy

Diana may not have previously worked with Bill Macy, but they both appeared in the same film many years prior! Diana was “Beer Stein Girl” in the original 1967 film of “The Producers.” Turns out Bill Macy, in an uncredited cameo, played the foreman of the jury when Leo & Max were on trial! WHO KNEW?

(Diana on the right)

“We find the defendants INCREDIBLY guilty.” LOL

Julia Louis-Dreyfus also has 3 additional Emmys for producing (Veep), making her the all-around most-Emmy-awarded performer ever.

Fun Stuff From Tootie Fruity Cody!

(reprinted with permission)

I have some clippings/publicity still from "Down and Out in Malibu" I wanted to share. I probably should have sent these a few weeks ago! The Richard Moll item is from the July 3, 1987 issue of TV Guide, and the review is from the October 6, 1987 issue of Variety.

Also, you probably already know this, but just in case..."Rumor Has It," "A Rose by Any Other Age," and "Down and Out in Malibu 1 and 2" were all taped during the hiatus in June. NBC was worried about a potential DGA strike and wanted to stockpile some episodes of their series.

Attached is an article (dated June 29, 1987) about the '87 DGA strike which mentions FOL.

cody

(The DGA did strike… and it lasted for 12 minutes, according to this article from the L.A. Times. The producers backed down, and production resumed.)

THANK YOU, CODY!

And Remember this pic?

I should have posted this last week, but here is a behind-the-scenes snap that our close personal friend and TFOL costumer Diana Eden snapped when they were making the Malibu Montage.
